The Future Lawyers Skills Program
Many countries in Asia-Pacific need more skilled lawyers with a strong understanding of their professional and ethical duties, including access to justice, to respond to the legal need in their communities and ensure the rule of law is upheld. There is a lack of infrastructure and training to support lawyers in these countries, leading to significant access to justice gaps.
DLA Piper and BABSEACLE, in collaboration with Foreign Trade University co-organize the Future Lawyers Skills course for law students in Vietnam. This 5-day training is part of the DLA Piper Asia-Pacific Legal Future Program, which aims to train and prepare more skilled lawyers with a strong understanding of their professional and ethical duties to provide pro bono services for their local communities, particularly in developing jurisdictions. A key aspect of the program is to support student contributions to the hosting country.
