Focus: Both pro bono and legal aid are vital in society to ensure greater access to justice and strengthen rule of law. This is your chance to be at the forefront of immersive and transformative discussions that seek to bridge the justice gap for the poor, vulnerable, and marginalized sections of society.
This upcoming Asia Pro Bono Roundtable, which is part of a session at the 2024 PILnet Global Forum and also serves as the 2024 fourth-quarter roundtable for the Asia Pro Bono Roundtable Consortium, will explore various justice initiatives which have positive similarities and overlap in nature and impact. When combined to work in synergy, their impact and effect can be exponentially strengthened.
The topics, discussed and facilitated by our experienced consortium members, will focus on the following areas: (i) the similarities and difference of pro bono and legal aid, (ii) examples of how pro bono and legal aid can synergistically work together, and (iii) enhancement of legal assistance through core and supplementary support.
