Session Description

This session explores the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality (VR), and gamification in transforming legal education. It will focus on the Virtual Reality Courtroom Game (VR Courtroom Game), developed by the University of Johannesburg’s Faculty of Law and the Johannesburg Business School’s Innovation Lab, as a pioneering tool for bridging the gap between theory and practice. The session will examine how this immersive, interactive learning approach enhances Clinical Legal Education (CLE), improves graduate readiness, and advances access to justice for marginalized communities. The discussion will also highlight how this technology-driven approach serves as a global model for integrating AI and gamification into legal education.
