Ali Mashraf
Lecturer, Department of Law, East West University
Ali Mashraf completed his LLB and LLM from the University of Dhaka (DU), Bangladesh. He is currently working as a Lecturer at the Department of Law, East West University (EWU), where he teaches the Law of Civil Procedure and Muslim Personal Law. He also oversees the university’s clinical legal education program, the EWU Law Clinic. He was a researcher of the Constitution Reform Commission of Bangladesh. Before joining EWU, he served as the Program Officer-South Asia and Junior Legal Analyst-Bangladesh of iProbono. He assisted in streamlining iProbono’s access to justice programs across South Asia. Ali was also a senior editor of Dhaka Law Review, a journal of legal scholarship edited and managed independently by DU law students. Moreover, Ali received professional training in sports law from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore. He published numerous articles and book chapters in national and international peer-reviewed journals and edited books on human rights, access to justice, environmental law, criminal law, and constitutional law. Ali has over 15 years of experience writing for prominent newspapers and blogs on sports and contemporary and thought-provoking legal issues. He also has more than 12 years of experience volunteering for social causes.
