Sayeed Hossain Sarwar

Senior Lecturer, Department of Law, East West University

Sayeed Hossain Sarwar is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Law, East West University (EWU), where he teaches Jurisprudence and Land Law. He coordinates the university’s clinical legal education program, the EWU Law Clinic. Sarwar completed his LLB and LLM from the University of Dhaka. His areas of interest are decolonization, legal history, and public international law. He is a consultant in iProbono, Bangladesh. He coordinates the Human Rights Fact-Finding Simulation in Human Rights Summer School, the flagship program of Empowerment through Law of Common People (ELCOP). He was a researcher and author in the 11th Community Law Reform program, which was themed on human rights violations of the people living in the coastal area of Bangladesh due to saline water intrusion. He co-edited the book, ‘Street Children of Bangladesh: Making Them Visible,’ published by ELCOP. He has also worked with USAID, NCSC, and Save the Children. He was the Vice President of Dhaka University Moot Court Society and Managing Editor of Dhaka Law Review. Sarwar participated in Oxford University’s Price Media Law Moot Court Competition. He is one of the organizers of the Bangladesh Round of the Jessup Moot Court Competition.
