Katherine Panguban

Legal Aid Director, Adamson University College of Law

Atty. Katherine “Kathy” Andreza Panguban is a staunch advocate and defender of women and children’s rights since her college days. She is currently the Assistant Secretary General for Legal Services and the Coordinator of the Women and Children Committee of the National Union of Peoples’ Lawyers, which is a non-government organization of lawyers and law students who provide pro-bono legal services to the marginalized sectors in the Philippines. She earned her Juris Doctor degree from Adamson University College of Law, where she also presently serves as a faculty member and the director of its Legal Aid Office.

Under the leadership of its Dean, Atty. Anna Maria “Ada” Abad and supervision of Atty. Kathy, the Adamson University Legal Aid Office, through their law students, continues to provide free legal advice and selected legal services to the University’s partner communities through its Integrated Community Extension Service (ICES) and to its partner non-government organizations. The legal services it provides range from conducting group discussions on basic human rights protection and promotion, holding of onsite and online legal clinics for free legal advice and consultations, doing legal research for the concerns raised by the clients, to drafting and filing of affidavits, position papers and other communications for and in behalf of its clients.
