The Faculty of Law and Political Science Clinical Legal Education (FLPCLE) programs have been operating successfully since 2007. To date they have done many remarkable things in improving justice education and helping to ensure greater access to justice and rule of law. The programs to date have mainly focused on Community Teaching/Street Law activities across Laos. Bit by bit their CLE programs have greatly improved and BABSEACLE has been there since the beginning to help provide various kinds of support. The positive message about what the FLPCLE has constantly been spoken of for many year. Consequently, many local Non-governmental organization(NGO) and International non-governmental organization (INGO) are now working with FLPCLE, in order to raise legal awareness among the Laotians.
Supervised by FLPCLE Director, AJan Souliyanh Lounchantha, and BABSEACLE staff members, FLPCLE successfully developed CLE materials, in early 2016, which relate to many CLE related topics. One important area was the development of a CLE textbook for the FLPCLE to use in an accredited CLE course. Other materials developed include manuals focusing on the laws that govern Land Law, Forestry Law, Woman and Child Protection, Agriculture Law, Wild Life Law, Food Law, Access to Information Law and the Environment. These materials help students, teachers, government authorities and villagers easily understand law topics.
Ajan Souliyanh said, “These materials are very important, as they will help guide us to success”.
Supported by the following organizations, these materials will be used to implement the CLE Program, throughout the country, and can be downloaded at www.babseacle.org (Laos Version):
