BABSEACLE’s International Clinicians In Residence (ICIRs) Support

ICIR Host Countries

BABSEACLE regularly hosts a number of  “Clinicians-in-Residence”. These individuals are leading practitioners and thinkers in the field of CLE, access to justice and legal education.

Whilst at BABSEACLE they add to the institutional knowledge by providing lessons in their area of expertise, gain valuable practical experience and are encouraged to pursue research opportunities in the area.

Clinicians-in-Residence participate in a ‘dialogue’ with BABSEACLE and our partners. We are often able to connect them with many of our partner universities in the region to experience CLE on the ground in Asia. It also provides a valuable networking opportunity and the ability to cultivate collaborative academic networks of CLE practitioners.

Get in touch

BABSEACLE’s well-established strategy and method for such placements is based on the following criteria:

The ICIRs must:

  • have a high level of English speaking, writing and listening skills.
  • be flexible and must have previously worked in developing CLE programmes in their own country and elsewhere (preferably countries in transition and when possible within countries in Asia).
  • commit to a minimum of one month placement with the host university.
  • have relevant and applicable working knowledge of CLE programmes similar to those established in Myanmar with both clients/community and classroom components.

Please contact us if you are interested and able to volunteer.
